QUALITY BEGINS ON THE FARM - GRASS FED BEEF
New Zealand cattle and sheep are raised on grass which is their natural diet. A luxury which New Zealand farmers can afford because of the temparate climate and extensive pasture and hill country.
Grass fed beef is lower in fat and has a healthier profile than the typical US grain fed beef.
QUALITY MEAT COMES FROM UNSTRESSED ANIMALS
There are some texture differences between different breeds of cattle and sheep. However, flavor differences in meat are more dependent on animals feed than breed.
For meat tenderness, the feeding and management, pre-slaughter handling and processing of the animal are much more significant than any breed difference.
Quality begins on the farm. An animal which is stressed because of undernourishment or excessive exercise or crowded conditions that are found in feed lots will NOT produce quality meat.
OUR PROCESSING IS HYGENIC AND HUMANE
Meat quality starts with healthy, well nourished stock. Prevention of animal stress and maintenance of good hygiene standards are top priorities. With our game meats, the process starts on the farm. The tenderness of our natural beef, natural lamb, natural veal and natural venison speaks for itself, enjoy!
